Příborská šifle

This honey pastry, shrouded in speculation, myths, and legends, is baked according to a recipe from the early 20th century. Šifle are made from plain wheat flour, honey (half a kilogram of honey per kilogram of flour), eggs, sugar, and spices. While gingerbread was traditionally made mainly from rye flour and honey was often replaced by syrup due to its scarcity, wheat flour and high-quality honey were reserved for festive occasions.
